Glasshouse is made by one person in Melbourne, Australia. This policy covers the Glasshouse app and the website at glasshousefocus.com.
The app
There is no account.
Glasshouse never asks you to sign up, sign in, or give an email address. There is nothing to log into.
Your plants stay on your device.
Your collection, your index cards, your notes and your session history are stored locally on your phone. I cannot see them.
Plant illustrations are downloaded from a server I rent.
That server holds artwork and nothing else. It stores no user data of any kind. Like every web server it records standard request information such as IP address and timestamp for a short period in order to operate and stay secure. Those logs are not linked to anything about you and are not used for analytics.
Payments are handled entirely by Apple.
If you unlock the Glasshouse, Apple processes it. I never see your card details, your name, or your billing address. Apple tells me that a purchase happened, not who made it.
One service remembers that you paid.
So that your unlock survives a new phone or a reinstall, the app uses a purchase service called RevenueCat. It stores a random identifier that it generates itself, the fact that a purchase happened, and which app version made it. That identifier is not your name, your email or your device's advertising identifier, and it is not connected to anything you have grown. I have no way to turn it back into a person, because I never had one.
There are no ads, no trackers, and no analytics SDKs.
No Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics, no attribution tools, no advertising identifier.
Apple gives me aggregate statistics.
Downloads, crashes and app usage, through App Store Connect. These are counts and averages across everyone who uses the app. They do not identify individuals and I could not connect them to you if I wanted to.
The website
The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
If you give me your email address on the mailing list form, I use it for one thing: to tell you when Glasshouse is available. The list is held by Buttondown, who process it on my behalf. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes you from the list.
If you email me
If you write to hello@glasshousefocus.com, I will have your email address and whatever you put in the message, for as long as the conversation is useful. Support emails sent from inside the app include your app version, system version and device model, which are visible in the draft before you send it and can be deleted.
Children
Glasshouse is not directed at children under 13 and asks nobody for personal information.
Your rights
Because I hold almost nothing, there is usually nothing to request. If you are on the mailing list, you can ask me to show you what I have or delete it, and I will. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 or the GDPR.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the new version goes here. If a change is significant and you are on the mailing list, I will tell you.
